Uses of Sodium Carbonate Anhydrous
1. In Industry (Industrial Uses):
- Glass manufacturing: It helps reduce the melting point of silica during glass production.
- Soap and detergent production: It removes water hardness, thereby increasing foaming ability and improving cleaning efficiency.
- Paper and textile industry: It is used for pH control and washing fabrics before dyeing.
2. In Water Treatment:
- It is used to control the pH of water and neutralize excess acidity.
3. In Laboratory and Analytical Applications:
- Buffer solution preparation: It acts as a pH stabilizer in various analytical experiments.
- In titration: Sodium carbonate is used as a standard base in acid-base titrations.
4. In the Food Industry (if food grade):
- Acidity regulator (E500): Used in some food processing applications, but only when it is food-grade sodium carbonate.

- May cause irritation if it comes into contact with skin or eyes. Use gloves and safety goggles during handling.
