Uses of Hydrogen Peroxide
1. Medical and Health Applications:
As a Disinfectant:
3% concentration hydrogen peroxide is used to kill germs on wounds or cuts.
Mouthwash or Gargle:
To eliminate bad breath and bacteria, a mixture of 1 part hydrogen peroxide and 2 parts water (only 3% solution) is used for gargling.
2. Personal Care:
Teeth Cleaning and Whitening:
A small amount of hydrogen peroxide can be mixed with toothpaste to remove stains and whiten teeth.
Hair Lightening:
Used in cosmetic applications to lighten hair color. Should be applied with caution.
3. Household Uses:
Cleaning and Disinfection:
Can be sprayed in light concentrations to disinfect kitchens, bathrooms, sinks, and other areas.
Stain Removal:
Used to remove blood and other stains from clothes or bed linens.
Washing Fruits and Vegetables:
Mixed with water in diluted form to remove formalin and bacteria from fruits and vegetables.
4. Industrial and Laboratory Uses:
Bleaching Agent:
